Specialist Eating Disorders Care,
Grounded in Clinical Expertise.
My Approach
I provide specialist psychological therapy for people affected by eating disorders and related difficulties in Newcastle and the North East.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, whether you’re seeking help for yourself or for someone you care about. My aim is to offer timely support in a safe and compassionate space where we can begin to make sense of your experiences together and support you in working towards the change that feels important to you.
My approach is professional, collaborative, and non-judgmental — grounded in clinical evidence and expertise, and guided by the belief that meaningful change is always possible.
I am a specialist psychotherapist with extensive experience in treating eating disorders and a range of other mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, body image concerns, body dysmorphia, and sleep difficulties such as insomnia. I offer sessions in-person at clinics in Gosforth and Tynemouth, as well as virtually.
I am a BABCP-accredited practitioner and supervisor.
Clinical Expertise
As a senior member of the internationally renowned Centre for Eating Disorders at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, I previously worked alongside leading clinicians including Professors Ulrike Schmidt and Janet Treasure. During this time, I provided both individual and group-based therapies within a multidisciplinary team.
With over a decade of experience in NHS psychology services across primary, specialist, and tertiary care, I have supported individuals aged 16 and above through a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Experience and Training
Academic and Teaching Roles
Alongside my clinical practice, I am a Lecturer and Clinical Tutor at University College London (UCL).
I have also delivered guest lectures on psychology programmes at King’s College London (IoPPN) and provided specialist training to organisations including the English Football League (EFL).
Newcastle Eating Disorders Clinic provides specialist, evidence-based therapy for adults experiencing anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, OSFED, ARFID and other related mental health difficulties.
Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, I offer private sessions online and in person to clients across the North East, including Northumberland, Durham, and surrounding areas. My therapy approach integrates CBT and other evidence-based therapies to support long-term recovery and a healthier relationship with food, body, and self.
